These Terms of Use do not apply to pages hosted by other organizations to which we may link and whose privacy and other policies may differ. Humat Privacy Policy

Humat respects the privacy of its supporters. We have developed a rigorous privacy policy that reflects that respect. Please read the following policy to understand how your personal information will be treated. We will do our best to honor any limitations you may wish to place on the usage of your personal information.

Collection of information

When you are on any of the Humat websites and are asked for personal information, you are sharing that information with Humat alone, unless stated otherwise. Humat may collect information regarding website visitors, including IP address, browser and domain information, and information volunteered by you, such as email address. We may also monitor and track information such as visitor usage patterns of our website using standard site tracking software.

Personally identifiable information

Humat collects personal information from visitors and other supporters when they register to join our organization and become a member, make a donation online or offline, subscribe to our e-newsletter, take an action concerning an issue using our service, or otherwise participate in one of our online communities. Our web server does not automatically recognize or collect personal information based on your email address; the personal information we collect is always voluntarily submitted by you.

Use of online information

Humat uses the information we collect about you to be able to send you communications such as our e-newsletter and various printed publications or mail appeals, and to help administer and improve our websites. Please note that we use this information for internal purposes only.

Contents posted on Humat need to be Humanitarian Related. Contents will be removed if cause, project or non-profit is found to contain untrue or misleading information, including, but not limited to, a cause, project or non-profit being used as a cover for another agenda or ulterior motive.

No Offensive Material - Contents may NOT contain: vulgar language or material, violence, nudity, content for mature audiences, any demonstration or instruction for menace behavior, or the like.

Use of mailing information

Periodically, Humat makes the names of inquiring donors available to other organizations working for social change. If you would like us to exclude your name from that process, we would be more than happy to honor your wishes. If you have not already done so, please email Humat at and be sure to include your name and address.

Sharing of information

Humat will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information, except when we have your permission or under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it. Humat may use such information ourselves to contact people for marketing purposes. We may share individual information with affiliated third parties (including without limitation Humat, llc and its member affiliates) and our trusted agents for marketing purposes.

Please note: We are aware of and sensitive to the issue of unsolicited email ("spam"); therefore Humat will never rent, trade or sell your email address. On rare occasions, it may be shared only for purposes of functionality. From time to time, however, we may agree with other reputable, charitable organizations to write via postal mail to some of each other's supporters, for the mutual benefit of both. If you would prefer not to have your name used in this manner, simply send us a request via email to, with your exact name and address.

Update, correct, or delete personal information

The accuracy of your individual information is important to Humat. Additionally, we have tried to streamline our operations by making it easy for you control the information that we maintain about you. Our members can access their personal online contact information by their Profile Page and make desired changes.
